BMS investor day

March 4, 2010 – 9:31 am by Michael Christel

You can follow us this afternoon on Twitter, where I’ll be reporting live from the Bristol-Myers Squibb investor meeting in New York City. Fresh off news of his retirement, CEO Jim Cornelius will provide opening remarks. His successor, Lamberto Andreotti, will then present an overview of the company and its plans moving forward. The rest of the afternoon will be devoted to an overview of BMS’ pipeline, with R&D executives detailing several late and early-stage programs.

They’ll likely cover the status of kidney transplant drug belatacept, which an FDA panel recommended for approval (13-5) on Monday. Also, just yesterday, BMS sealed a licensing deal to develop Allergan’s experimental drug AGN-209323 for neuropathic pain. The compound, also called EHT/AGN 0001, was originally discovered by Paris company ExonHit Therapeutics, which later collaborated with Allergan.
